Gas pressure - winter usage

When using gas, especially when it is cold, one must take into account that when the gas becomes cold, the gas pressure in the bottle also drops. As the amount of gas decreases, it also affects the gas pressure, which drops further. The flame becomes smaller and this reduces the effect.

At a certain point the gas reducer will not release enough gas to keep the stove running. Before connecting the gas bottle, check that there is enough gas for heating (at least ½ bottle) or have a spare bottle available and always store the gas bottle to be used in a warm place before putting it into use. Then there is less risk of the gas pressure becoming too low, as opposed to if the gas cylinder had been stored outside in the cold.

The picture shows what happens when the gas in the bottle evaporates. The pressure drops when the amount of gas decreases, the gas becomes cold and can "freeze" in the pressure reducer and the gas stove switches off. Note! A steel bottle is best to use, as the gas evaporates best there. There is no other way to prevent the gas from "freezing" in the cylinder than to have enough gas or to keep the cylinder heated and especially in cold weather.

To avoid the pressure dropping, you can make a simple "heating box" and use a cabin heater, 1000 W is enough, to heat the space for the LPG bottle. See pictures here!

ATTENTION! Do not let the temperature in the box rise above 40 degrees C.
