AquaClarus does not work

My Aquaclarus filtration system has stopped working or is no longer working properly.

Troubleshooting

  • Check the transformer, is it putting out 12 volts? (check with multimeter)

    YES:
    The fault lies elsewhere, continue troubleshooting.
    NO: The transformer is broken and should be replaced.

  • Does the pump make noise?
    If the pump makes a loud noise, it is probably because the rotor and bearings are worn. Bearings and rotors in the pump are actually wearing parts that should be checked at regular intervals and replaced if necessary.

    How to change the impeller:
    1. Remove the float and coarse filter.
    2. At the bottom you can see 4 screws that are loosened.
    3. The pump is removed from below.
    4. Open the upper part of the pump where the rotor/impeller sits, the video shows how to open:
